Is there a recomended oil for the airhead gearbox, as in manufacturer. What oil are all you old farts using these days:thumb

I believe the recommended oil is ep80 but when i had my R80rt i tried 80/90 semi synthetic. This seemed to make the gears a little less clunky.

80/90 GL5 oil

Got some of that from screw fix :thumb good price as well. :beerjug: to Brassmonkey

Although i put this stuff in the 800 after the box had been re-built Kev -

from the website:
Granville Epex 80/90 gear oil
Specification
API:GL-5
MIL-L-2105B/C/D
Granville Lubricants: designed without compromise to meet and exceed requirements of todays engines and transmissions.

Motomania sell it at various uk outlets for £5.99 lt - 3500 miles since and no complaints mate

Rock Oil 80/90 GL5 £15/5litres from local truck parts supplier or Rock Oil rep.

My local servo/ Mazda dealer sold me Shell Spirax A for GBP12- for 4 litres, not much more than 3 times the price of 98 Super.

It's only going in the transaxle of the Mazda - I , err, shell out 3 times that for Mobil 1 full synth gear oil for the bikes----.
