Don't you dare offer him your statutory £50 cash offer :rob

I'll definately call him tomorrow afternoon but in the morning/early afternoon I will be showing off my Landy at a classic show ( subject to weather -not sitting there in hissing rain as more rain comes in than is deflected :D )

Blimey that was quick. I only got the paper delivered in the post yesterday. Must have been advertised elsewhere.:blast

Keep trying.:comfort

I went from E. Anglia to Southampton to get mine, only just a few weeks ago.

You know, I had one of these back in 1985, bought from David Brown M/Cycles, a BMW dealer in Ashford, Kent, used and with BMW warranty.
Always regetted selling it, now I 'm happy again.:)
Just tinkering, will be on the road soon.

So making them into a GS thingy is a bad thing then?

It's your bike you can do what you want with it BUT it ain't a cheap job turning them into a G/s and it won't fetch g/s money when you come to sell it and we'll give you a kicking when we see you :thumb2

Seriously. You'll not see much change from £700 just to sort a g/s headlight set up and speedo out. £250 for a shock and you will then need a main stand, front end and a 21" front rim. At the end of it all you'll have a bike that doesn't handle as well as a standard ST.

What he said :thumb2

The ST is rare compared to the g/s. Especially good original examples like the one you have there. My personal oppinion is that it would be a crying shame to 'g/s' it. But as mensioned allready, my oppinion dosn't count. It's your bike and only you can say how you want it to look.

I have done a fairly extensive conversion to my other half, Jill's R100GS in order to lower it enough for her to ride it confidently. In fact I have lowered it by a good five inches. What I did also do, was to keep and store all of the original parts, replacing nesassary parts that I wanted to chop about with second hand. When it comes time to sell the bike on, I can rebuild it back up with the original parts.

It would be good if you can wangle yourself an invite to the Airhead WeeKend in June so we can have a good oggle at the unmolested bike before you carry out your restoration :thumb2
