Any good? Advice required about buying one please? Any inherent problems to look for, what sort of price to pay for a good'un, etc?

Lovely machines and a much better buy than the 90s

Double disk conversion is advisable. Heavy flywheel clutches can be a nightmare so make sure it all works and feels good. Same for the gearbox.

81 on swing arm conversion is a plus point if you aren't interested in originality.

handlebar master cylinder conversion is also a plus.

I heard on the grapevine that RichC was talking about selling the one he had off me. May be worth dropping him a line.

I love my R90/6, bought off Eng on here. I had it together with my R1200GS and ended up selling the GS as I preferred riding the old bike.

Picked this beauty up yesterday. One owner for 37 years, one other before and one after. It was used for touring on the continent and was stored in a warm kitchen for seven years after the second owner died. It's in lovely original condition (apart from the silencers - the originals came with it but the baffles are shot) and rides beautifully. I think it's going to give me years of pleasure but I'm frequently having to check to make sure I'm not dribbling wee - yet! :D

A big thanks to all those who offered me some very sound buying advice and a massive thanks to Andy (Devon) for taking me to view the bike and bring it back. :clap :bow

A cracking bike Andy, nice to see it out an about today :beerjug:
