My 1976 bike is been sprayed at the moment and we are having trouble in finding the right orange colour. Does anybody have any information of current colours that would match. I know the old colour codes are there but from what I can gather they do not translate into modern colours. Has anyone sprayed one of these "ginger beauties "recently?

they do not translate into modern colours.

First I have heard of that. I have had a number of very old vehicles and bikes repainted over the years and never had this before.........as long as you have the code then it can be interogated and broken down into its constituent colours and mixed. Sounds like maybe your painter is not trying hard enough....??

Anyway, Tunner is your man on here - Top geezer.

Thanks for all your comments gentleman , I really appreciate them. Sadly my bike originally is black/grey so I have no historic pieces to work from.
So can I just ask has anyone used this colour and can verify it- I know this is a bit of a long shot!

Some of these Candy colors were multi layer jobs and can't be truly matched with a single coat.
Quality of components is another factor too- in my experience matching some of the Honda Pearl metallics needs a very expensive Mica not generally sold for Auto use.
There are even differences with some pearl colors between well respected suppliers, with some calling them metallics which need a clear coat , and some listing them as a solid color - it isnt as simple and straightforward as it seems!
