Rabaconda not suitable for tyres fitted with a mousse.

I’ve been doing a bit of homework on tyre changing rigs with a view to buying one and obviously Rabaconda is on the list.

The Rabaconda blurb says it can be used on dirt bike wheels up to 21” but is NOT suitable if the tyre has a mousse insert.

Anyone know why and is there a workaround?

Odd. I’ve had a rabaconda for years and always changed mousses with it.

I’ve changed dozens of tyres with mousses with it. Never tried Tubliss, but I guess they should be easier to change

I looked at Rabaconda and liked them a lot, but can’t justify the price tag. I also needed something that didn’t need me stooping over to work it. Looking at the best video demos of mx changers, I saw a pattern that most tended to be using a similar style of changer and it wasn’t a Rabaconda.

I posted a link to mine in the bargains forum as it was only £50 at the time. Even at £85, it’s still great vfm…

Hmmm, saw them and nearly bought one but I don’t have the floor space to have one taking up space in my garage. Pity the legs don’t fold up. Looks like cracking good value.

The legs unbolt if you need them to - easy peasy with just 4 bolts/nuts… I have enough floor space but I did think about hanging it up if necessary.

I like how I can place it anywhere to use it and it only needs as much room as its footprint.

I bought an off-road Rabaconda from here and it’s a game changer - even for tubes

You can do tubed, tubeless and mousses with the original rabaconda. Some tubeless can’t be difficult to break the bead.
You can’t do cross spoked wheels because of how the supports sit.

Certain mousses are bastards to do on the original changer anyway.
But contrary to the picture above - you can do mousses on the street changer.
