RAC Fault Code Reader - cheap GS911?

A) the diagnostic plug is different. B) Although, I believe BMW motorcycles use OBD protocol which is universal for cars these days, the software is different.

So, in summation - no.

As far as I know, the only tool which is currently available to interrogate the BMW motorcycle ECU is the GS911. However, I was recently told by my local, friendly, BMW Motorrad service manager, that once the new diagnostic machine which has replaced the BMW GT1 is connected to a bike, it renders it in capable of being accessed by any aftermarket device.

That's regarding software rewrites and does not effect normal GS911 functions ie service light resets etc. The GS911 cannot alter the software in the ECUs.
