Race between an LC & a DOHC GSA

Guys I'm afraid I don't post much in this section nowadays as I'm busy in the water cooled GS section however the geezer who I was racing with deserves a mention as does the comparison between the two bikes.

Firstly I am an absolute convert to the new GS - it's fast, amazingly nimble and stops very quickly. Naturally I have kept my 2010 GSA as I love it to bits and its also a fantastic bike.

Anyway, on Thursday I was NW of fort William heading for the coast when I came across a Ducati multistrada and a GSA both With pillions.mI got past the Ducati quite quickly but had to ride like a loon to get past the two up GSA - indeed the rider was so skilful only the superior acceleration got me past him. Once I got past him I couldn't shake him despite the superior performance of the LC. Now this isn't the bikes fault - it's simply because the GSA rider was better than me. I've Ben riding since I was 16 so I have 34 years under my belt but nonetheless it goes goes to prove that quite rightly a GSA in the right hands is still one awesome bike.

So, fritz, if you are out there I had to turn myself inside out to stay ahead of you so you get my respect and well done for showing me what an awesome bike the GSA is in the right hands

But seriously it was a humbling experience - the other rider simply got up to speed and using skill just went around all the bends - I was having to get back below three figures to get around the corners - it as very impressive especially two up.

I did see a few 1150's and other GSA's so if it was you 'hi'!

Well , if it had been next week you would never have gotten past me on me old trusty 1150 , no , not because of my superior riding skills and all that other riding god bollocks you speak of . Simply because i would be riding with a grossly overloaded bike with a gazebo strapped to the back with 5 foot poles sticking out . A bundle of firewood , carry oot , guitar , seat etc . I'd have been weaving about all over the road , panic braking into corners and thruppeny bitting round them . probably still under the influence from the night before . you'd have to be off your fucking head to try and take me .

And totally unnecessary and unfounded.....you're not going to find a nicer bloke than Mark A great all-round bloke, who does loads for guys on this site, and expects little in return....and certainly doesn't deserve that twaddle!

I can't see any problem with Mark's post....it was an appreciation of the GSA as a bike...and it is an awesome bike!...and admiration for some good riding from (possibly) a fellow Tosser
