I am considering fitting a wee rack to the top box of my Gs so that i could possibly strap even more shite to it.
Has anyone any experience of doing this?

Hi Ya Baldy,

Not a rack as such but I had a Givi topbox on my Africa Twin and the previous owner rivited a cargo net around the lid.

This proved to be very usefull for shoving extra stuff on top. What ever the size or shape you could get the net to stretch round it and it was secure.

It was riveted around three sides leaving the back of the topbox ie where you would lean against as a pillion, open for shoving stuff in :)

Now I have done nearly the same, cargo nets but inside the panniers, it makes life a lot easier because you can use the last bit of space in the lids for things you hope to never need but of you do it will be in a rush.

You could nip into your local Ikea and buy a few of their long kitchen cabinet handles which attach with 2 screws and fix them to the top of the box, works well!

I put a rack on my Givi Maxia but haven't used it in anger yet. Looks quite strong!

I have, for about 5 years now. I bungee my tent to the top when the wife is in residense on the pillion. No problems yet. Rack is £20 odd.

Got a rack and back rest with my Givi. Now the wife is comfy and I have somewhere to put MY stuff.
