anyone changed from the plastic covers to a significant meta one? I had a metal one on the GS and it took a few knocks, and that radiator was higher up. Anyone changed theirs and what to?

I had some rugged road ones but sold them to someone on here stupidly just before I got another AT

still wondering if they strictly needed for road use. The rubber looks pants on the AT but I figure they might just be good enough to absorb the little stones...
I’m sure unless your doing loads of rocky trails in Morocco following the Dakar racers you’ll be ok.
