A mate is planning on having a look at this R80 RT soon one owner from new, 25k on the clock and allegedly mark free ... and was wondering if you could fit radial tyres to it ( no idea why that question has come up ) ... I haven't a clue hence asking the collective :thumb

That looks super clean, I dont think you can get radials , but some alright rubber out there

Not sure why he would want radials on it, my own R80RT is on avon roadsliders, and it handles great at whatever speed, Bridgestone bt45's are probably a good tyre too,

Looks a cracker by the way, I am mighty impressed with mine!

It has a sure foot sidestand, fitted as well, much better than the instantly retractable standard one!:augie

Equivalent size radials run on wider rims, so it's not so simple. Also it will most likely be nicer to ride on correct spec. Rubber.

As far as I'm aware Conti are the only company making radial tyres in classic sizes. They do a road and racing version (probably not needed on an RT), but when they were launched, cleaned up in classic racing.
