evotech for me,there is no way any of these guards would cause overheating,obviously excepting getting clogged with leaves and debris but that would go for the bare rads anyway

Brilliant all the arm chair experts on here saying how bad rad guards are for air flow
and BMW go and fit them too oh no what will the boffins say now.and now we have a choice of buying an OEM rad guard too brilliant.

Suddenly all the touratech, cymarg, evotech etc will be half price in a few days time to compete with BMW
also while we are on a subject of a OEM guards etc, by the look of it, these will be available to buy from BMW too. they are made of rubber.

Felt like rubber to me when I took photo at the NEC. But i can't remember that far to be certain.
I've always used the Cymarc ones but really like the look of the Evotech ones, and there cheaper.
I have to return an item I've purchased from Nippy's, so I'll going to send back the Cymarc guards (new & unopened) I have and order the Evotech ones.

Mines a GSA so doesn't need air intake guards.
Wish I fitted some a few weeks ago. I was on my way to work when I thought it had started raining, as usual wiped my visor but it went all smeary, when I pulled up noticed sticky anti freeze everywhere. When I was due to go home a quick top up and just rode it home. Some araldite and a top up until I could get a new rad. BMW didn't have one and there was a 8 week wait so I bought a second hand one from motoworks and about a third of the cost of a new one.

The K1600 has louvred covers over the lower rad intakes but the louvres face down (looks neater) so do nothing to stop stones. Blown rads are not uncommon.
My hexhead oil cooler has sone stone dings in the tubes so I fitted a woven wire mesh guard direct to the Hexhead oil cooler face. It's 1mm wires at 5mm spacing. The sharp edges covered with rubber edge strips and tucked away behind the plastic. Cost was under £10 and some time with the metal shears.
