Ive had several GS & GSA's over the years, I may have bought the cheapo radiator guards on previous bikes but never got around to fitting anything on my latest 2021 GSA, well you guessed it, I was passing an HGV going in the opposite direction on a beautiful sunny day when suddenly my visor was drenched in what proved to be coolant.

Anyhow I managed the 70 odd miles home monitoring the engine temperature as I went, on close inspection the right hand radiator was holed by I assume a stone kicked up.

Got bike to the dealers who supplied and fitted 1 new radiator, topped up coolant and also supplied and fitted a set of motorrad radiator guards (these were cheap around £40 pair) total bill £447. :eek

Bad luck, that sucks!
I have fitted guards to both of the Gs' I've had, including the current but luckily have not had them put to the test.

Mine came with rad guards as standard (albeit plastic ones) as seen on this pic.

Are you saying it pinged through the standard guards? That’s really bad luck
