radio bbc4 now belfast...

Just wasted 15mins listening to your man "Bateman" again
to qutoe himself "up me own ass" please note ass not arse.
For a writer to walk out of another writers play says alot about
him, and that Bangooooor accent does me head in...

Have not read Maggot, but Muldoon did make a very good point
about poetry, that we only read it at school and then its rammed
down are throats. Where as in the East poetry is still held in high
regard esp Iran, Pakistan, and Iraq. I see he is down at the Southbank
tomorrow will call down and see him live.

P.J. have you read any of Ewart Milne stuff ???
Have just started reading his poems, i find them fantastic esp after
reading about his life.

VERSE

No, Joe, not read Ewart Milne.

A favourite of Muldoon's is 'Why Brownlee Left', ties in neatly with my bleak view of existence.

See if you can find, in the Black North there, Brendan Murphy's 'It's History', publ. www.doirepress.com this year, isbn 978-1-907682-01-8. Pick it up in a bookshop & just read the 1st piece & see if that appeals.
He is a scouser, now resides in Kinvara.

Let me know if you cannot find a copy.

. . can't comment on 'Bateman', Joe, couldn't access the station & to judge by your appraisal, maybe as well!
Enjoy the reading tonight, should be a great occasion.
