GS in workshop 18500 miles
New battery fitted and new alternator ordered from Germany.
Rainbow comes up trumps again in more ways than one. Arrived at Dealers on Thursday to drop bike in for check and fix for flat battery and possible no charging, Ian had arranged for me to use the RT demonstrator. Got there and told sorry RT had to go to Scotland (me thinks here comes 650 Scarver, Then Dave comes up me and says loan bikes outside take it steady on the new tyres, gets outside brand new 4 cylinder K1200demonstrator 3 miles on the clock, Dave’s last words "enjoy running it in"!!!.and I still am 250 miles later.

What a fantastic dealership again.

I'd be very interested to find out what you thought of the K1200 compared to the GS (man1)

thinking of getting another bike.If i can i'll keep the 99 1100 and get either the 12ADV or the K1200 s

Let us know :thumb

K1200s

Superb bike masses of power from tick over upwards, loads of torque throughout rev range (for a 4 Cylinder) Very comfy for a sports bike) not as comfy as GS.Handled extremely well really liked the duo lever suspension. The bike I was loaned had ESA (electronic suspension adjustment) well worth the money you could really tell the difference between the settings. Quite heavy on fuel I got about 118 to reserve compared to 185 on the 1200GS, but engine was new and I think this would improve with time and miles.I still think that over a variety of different roads I would still be faster on the 1200GS overall.
Excellent bike though.
Personally I would still buy a new 1200Gs in fact I have another on order for May delivery. I woud not be interested in the 1200ADV too heavy, too tall, too bulky and must be underpowered compared to 1200Gs as is ony same brakehorse as 1200Gs and 30 plus kilo heavier.
