Hi All,

Heading off on a wee camping journey and was looking for a decent waterproof cover for my bike, GS 1200 - 2018 plate, will have top and side boxes fitted when parked. Any recommendations or guidance would be greatly appreciated

Thank You

You do know the bike and boxes are weatherproof even at 130mph 🤣

The bike covers i have found that are large enough to fit over the GS are too bulky when folded.

Might sound like a silly idea but a cheap tarp from Decathlon is your best bet, even comes with eylets in to tie it down.
i have one, but never used it for the bike.... poor thing just gets wet lol

As above, don't worry about a cover.

Anything really waterproof is not small, especially for the size of the GS + boxes.

If you're really bothered about keeping it our the weather, get a proper tarp set up over it. At least you can use it to sit under too.

In the wrong section mate, needs to be r1200/1250 gs

Aldi were recently selling bike covers. I bought a few XL sized for my own bikes,
Waterproof and lined, pack up very small and come with a carry bag, can’t remember if they were £12 or £13 each. Cover a GS with panniers, but not topbox. . The high GS screen means front wheel is only half covered.

Always liked those Lone Rider moto tents for that.

A tent for you AND your bike lol

For your information no aluminium luggage is waterproof
Why do you think bmw do waterproof inner bags for the luggage
Rubbish .Even my Voge panniers and top box that retail at £600 for all three plus frames are fully waterproof.
The only ally panniers I’ve ever had that leaked were the shite BMW ones on my 2007 1200GSA.

Eh no! Most of the metal OEM ADV boxes I’ve had leaked. Particularly bad we’re a set of the black ones that after riding in heavy rain would amass 2” or more of water in both of them. They had to be regularly removed to pour the water out of them.

The only metal boxes that never leaked were the original metal boxes fitted on the 1150 GSA.

I had a mate with a V-Strom and he had a rounded plastic top box that he drilled a "drain hole" in lol
Desperate measures 🤣

I've a feeling he's not the only one who as ever done this.

Touch wood I'm ok.... for now!
