This Green Isle of ours is green for a reason.. Rain...

I've read all the posts and don't care too much about noise or buffetting as these can be solved with ear plugs and screen adjustment.
Main requirement is performance in the rain.

I've a Caberg Justisimmo which is great for the summer and fine in the rain when moving above 50mph, but terrible during slow traffic where the rain seems to well ontop of the visor and slowly trickle down inside.

So on my short list are (not exclusively)
System 5 (I'd like aonther Flipper, but not pushed)..
Arai Tour X
Bmw Motard (Like the look and big big visor).

But open to suggestions to anyone with good long distance rain experience...

Anyone...anyone...?

Tour X

Good enough helmet in the wet both slow and fast, the only problem is misting up, my clear visior right pain for it, but the smoked visior never mists up.

You can fit a FogCity visor insert to the Tour-X. It's a bit fiddly, and has to be perfectly lined up, but it will work :thumb

So where's the cheapest place on this Island for a Tour X (I'm guessing it's not on the Mexican side of the border)?

The problem with a Tour-X in the rain is that water will drip from the back of the peak nearest the helmet. If the visor is open a crack, to allow de-misting, the water will drip down the inside of the visor. I would guess that this could be a problem with the BWM helmet as well due to the similar design, but I haven't tried one so I can't sy for sure.

I love my Tour-X and I find that this is not a big issue as the Tour-X 2 has good vents near the mouth and is far enough away from my face not to mist too badly.

My Arai RX-7 was also good in the rain. Whatever you buy check the visor fit. Cheaper helmets have gaps around the more complex compound curve areas of the visor.
