Ok, strange request as most people seem to want to lower their rear pegs!

I would like to find a way of raising the rear pegs on my 1200gs?
My son can only just reach them and I would like a better solution than gaffer tapping wooden blocks on them!
I have seen the clamp on style aftermarket touring pegs you can buy, but I’m a bit concerned they could weaken the frame where you clamped them on?
I need to raise or add additional pegs about 4 inches from the existing ones.
Has anyone found a solution to this before?

Does this suggest that your son may be too small to ride on the pillion?

He’s been on the back for the last 2 years so I’m thinking he's old enough! what's old enough? Poor lads just got short legs!
I guess if I had a mentally fast sports bike with pegs so high up ya knees end up round your neck then it wouldn't be a problem! But I guess then I wouldn't want to carry a pillion anyway?
Seriously though, anyone got any ideas?

You could try to pm Aiden "Mod" of the Irish section.... sure I heard him mention that he had raised the rear pegs for his pillion.... no harm in trying

My daughters 5 and when she sits on the standard front seat she can reach the footpegs easily but when she sits on the pillion she can just and so touch the pillion pegs
Hopefully this summer for mine :D

As far as I know. the only requirements for a pillion are that their feet can reach the footrests, and that they wear a helmet.
Long may it remain so.

Phil

I looked this up on one of the DfT web sites and that was correct. I am not sure how the nanny state has overlooked this loophole though:rolleyes:
