I have had my jacket for about 10 months now and WAS very pleased with it until today.

£400 for a jacket and the main zip pull snapped off.:mad:

I always look after my kit and im very dissapointed, never had this problem with my HG jacket.

Is it me ? Am i expecting too much ? Would you complain ? :tears

Alan

Don't buy a Rukka then, its the only fault I can find with the jacket not one original zip pull left:(

Shep

take it back to bmw and they will sort it out, the same thing happened to my hubbys and he got a new jacket.:thumb2

mine did that so i just used a short length of paracord on the bit still left. Like they did on the arm zips.

problem sorted and it won't break again. :thumb2

Did the same on my hg trousers when they broke.

Zips

After ten years of hard use the tag on my Rukka jaxcket broke off, I used an old key ring, perfect all set for the next ten!!> The chap I brought my 2nd hand Rallie jacket from had the same thing after 9months, took it back and got a new one in exchange, so don't despair.

you will have a 2 year garantee with all clothing you buy from bmw:beerjug:

Get it replaced with a heavy duty nylon one, I have a repairer that does them for 40p/inch...peanuts, in the meantime put a cable tie through it

They replaced my jacket even after I had used it in Morocco, just because the tag to hang it up with broke :clap

But to be fair, a jacket to fit you at that time would have been rather heavy:D

Exactly the same thing happened to me. 10 months old and the main zip pull came off.

So of I trundled back the dealer looking for a replacement jacket.

Turns out that the zip mechanism is specially designed to be replaced if ever it breaks.

So I just picked a new strong BMW stamped metal one and they fitted it there and then into the zip bit. Brnad new pull that works fine and looks like it belongs there as well.

If you look closely at the remaining bit of the zipper, the pull is held on my a sliding mechinism type thingy. They just pushed the sliding bit with a small screw driver and that allows you to put the new pull on. Let go of the screw driver and its springloaded or something and slides back. Never knew they did zips like it.

If you got your jacket replaced then thats a bonus.

Thats exactly what they did, i was well impressed, all fixed now. Aparently its a common fault and they had a big bag full of spares at Balderstons. Top service as usual. :thumb

HI Alan, I just bought a Master V from HG through their ebay shop of warranty claims and returns and guess what: The fault had been the zip pull did break off on the thermal liner. See it happens at HG as well :comfort
