Rally Sprint Video

Excellent:clap

Looked liked the bigger the bike the slower they were, KTM 450 Rallye looked quick as did the 690s:)

I think I saw one boxer there :( :D

There are four of us from down here that want to come up and have a bash. Two 990's a 690 and errrrrr, me on me GSA !! :D

It's the taking part that counts .... (b&b, pub, bike event .. :beerjug:)

Giles - I can vouch it was a top event and if you are toying with the idea then do it. It was my first Rally and had a great day. You can haul it if you feel inclined but there were guys going round at their pace and they stagger the start order so you dont get too tangled up with faster riders. You're racing the clock, not each other.

I rode to this one from Reading with my off road wheels strapped on the back...

Which all worked well and makes me confident its a good solution for the trip to Magnon's in the summer if I use Karoo's (I've got spare wheels for green laning and I cant be doing with sticking below 70 on a long trip on TKCs etc to stop them wearing too quick).

But I'd guess only 10% or so rode there, maybe even less.

Its true the big singles are faster as you can stop, turn and ride the tech sections much faster but on the open flowing sections its a different story. I was hitting 80mph plus - trust me that's arse clenchingly fast on loose stages with a drop off on your left!

To pick up 2nd in the Twins class and beat a load of KTMs surprised the hell out of me - I suspect dodgy timing lights. To be fair I think this one - more than the others in the series - was GS friendly , but they are all do-able I hear.

Will defo do one more round at least, so maybe see you there? As they are all up North or Wales maybe ride up together?

Be good to see more GSers there.

Mike

That Lyndon Poskitt was on a flyer and those lads on XR's (51 & 52) were travelling, nice to see and hear the CRM Strokers on full chat too

The XChallenges were positively pedestrian:blast

Must get my vid out from the 1995 Cambrian tonight and see some footage of me flying along:bounce1

Lyndon is now entered in the 2013 Dakar :clap

How fekin quick was Lyndon:eek:

Very, very quick. I don't know how many minutes back he started from me, but he came past me on one lap on the downhill section before the tarmac, like I was stood still.

Many thanks for posting up such an excellent video.:)

the R1100GS at 6.43 section on no.74. I think I was possibly the slowest rider on the course but I have numerous excuses as to why I was so slow.:)

Awesome day out. One of the best biking days in years.

Big thanks to everyone who helped to organise this event.
