Just a question for those Rallye 2 Jacket and pants combo. owners.

Just how good is the armour and jacket build?

i.e. Who's had a good off and how well did our gear a) protect you, and b) perhaps less importantly - stand up to the abuse (could you ue the gear again? Was it knackered?)

Once only

I would suggest that most gear is designed to save you one time. In my previous accidents, the kit worked as it said on the tin, but was written off with the bike.

Abrasion and armour compacting would make it pretty useless I would suggest, unless you wish to gamble.

I saw a rally 3 jacket after a good off in South Wales last year and although still looked ok, the material was tinned where the road had come in contact with it.

HTH, Nick

By the way, my gear was Heine Gericke, which I believe is the same manufacture/ factory as BMW own stuff.

bm jackets

I have a savanna 2 jacket , and the material is bomb proof !
I think the rallye 2 jacket is just the standard cordura material, but looks the mutts !!:D

I had a Big off on the 6th April on my GSA, 60mph on Bitumin Tarmac, combined with a little Foray into Srub and finally Blackthorn.......Had Daiese Leather bottoms scuffed Sore and badly bruised thigh, Was wearing the Ralleye 2. My left arm, Elbow, Shoulder took major impact.....
The Armour perfermed Fantasically ie, No Breaks or that much soreness the material survived as you would expct Cordura to ie Bonding rather than tearing, except on the seams on the elbow I am truly impressed with the Jacket and how it save me from serious injury... So was the Doctor who treated, me he asked to see the jacket for his report.......I have pictures which I'll try and upload....
