Good Heavens !!

I find myself agreeing with everthing Timolgra has said in this thread - and me a 1200GSA owner (with fantastic BMW R2 jacket - the bonny blue one). Bought for hot weather riding and shower (not rain) resistance.

Let's hope that one day you're not sat by the side of the road agreeing with anything else:beerjug:

ive got the Revit Dakar trousers and the Off Track jacket

they each come with two zip out layers - thermal, waterproof and the shell itself.

Never worn it with the thermals but with the inner waterprrof liner its nice and quite cool in our summer so far, has let a bit of water in so not perfect but no more than any suit as it gets down the neck area and in at the crotch.
In the extreme heat, all the liners are out and the mesh panels are exposed and its really cool and stops you overheating.

Cost me £380 for the whole suit so decent value and really nice quality.

A very good alternative to the BMW suit IMO :)

and I have another good alternative to the BMW suit

Hein Gerrick Cruise jacket (removable thermal liner and 5 x ventilation zips) and Revit Dakar trousers (seperate removable waterproof and thermal liners plus 2 x ventilation zips) Both also have countless pockets and 2 waterproof pockets each. Despite comming from different manufacturers they match fine :thumb

Umm .....

When it's cold I wear a fleece inside my Twat suit :nenau

When it's wet I put the Goretex liner in :blast

When it's hot I take the liner out and take off the fleece :thumb2

When it's really hot I open the vents :clap

It's not rocket science :hide

Sounds like a lot of faffing about in our changeable climate !!

And what do you do if it is hot and wet-sweat or get wet ?

That's when you put on a fast wicking technical t-shirt .. with liner and jacket and vents open.

Common sense really :aidan

Crikey !!

Good job the Rallye 2 kits is designed for misguided GS riders-you need massive panniers just to carry the extra kit to make it wearable !

ermmm how do I add to all the opinions posted,, simple...if you can afford one buy one,,,,,if you cant, were a lesser garment...........;)

however there are superior items at even more inflated prices out there so if you own a rukka set......or halvesson ? poorly spelt no doubt..:blast

horses for courses,,,,

this horse has a Rallye 2 its my corporate twat pyjama symbol to my weak resistance to marketing.....suppose thats why I wear colour co-ordinate leathers to match my Fireblade...so I'm a double twat....:thumb2

Rukka Allroad looks pretty good - much more understated style IMO, though it's even more than the Ralley2!

Hi Wreford,

That looks like quite a nice piece of kit, have you used it out on the bike in anger yet?

Did you get it locally?

Good price to :thumb2

Stu

I brought it mail order from:

Terry Brooks

www.riderz.co.uk

01639 849272

I've spoken with Terry a couple of times nice guy that gives straight advice. I've used it but not in anger.

I brought it because I want a light jacket that I can use offroad, intially I thought it was a bit small but it's deceptive and fits over my body armour suit very well.

It all seems well put together and in the winter I reckon it'll be fine as I use a heated vest.

I went for the black and grey

I'd suggest you give Terry a call if you're intrested

BMW Rallye kit is really the way. It just works so well in heat open vents, remove gortex and in the cold with the liner and the correct under garments. The vents are fantastic especially the under arm ones. And then there is the protection......as you can see mine is the older red one.
