Looking good :thumb2

How are you finding the hyperpro shock?

have you done anything with the standard forks?

Bike still for sale - just hadn't fitted the rallye bash plate. Subframe was modded a while ago and I thought I'd post a pic.

Hyperpro shock is alot better than the standard and a step on from the ohlins on my mates bike.

I have a set of 43mm WP forks which have been revalved and sprung by Bas at Hyperpro in Holland. Straight swap into the existing clamps.

How much are you looking for the forks? Thanks Mark

Fitted the new WP forks yesterday with Coles supervision. He very kindly brought them from Hyperpro in Holland for me - top bloke.

What a difference!!!! Bike is so much more supple and the rear Hyperpro I have fitted now works in unison with the front. It's like riding a different bike. The harshness of the standard forks is replaced by a plush nicely damped front end. Bas has revalved and sprung them specifically for the X Challenge and I would say that they are probably the best money you can spend on your bike when coupled with a Hyperpro rear end setup.

I know you can go further and get a 48mm setup but that means changing the triples and machining a new pin to go through the headstock but these 43mm MX forks only took me 20 mins to change.

I'll probably keep the bike now - can't think of anything that gets close to what my bike can do and have the reliability that the X's offer.

Ahhhhh, hi Magno. So thats where they went. :bounce1 I was with Bas when he packed those and then took Walter to the station on his way to the uk with them.

Thinking of fitting those myself over the winter if Bas can get any more.

Got the last pair I'm afraid. Bas seems to think that the 43mm and 48mm WP's are very little different in performance. Another advantage of using the standard triples is that you don't need to remount the ignition switch and therefore keep the steering lock.

Still have the standard front wheel. Will get the hub laced to an Excel A60 as and when the one on it becomes unserviceable. Unless anyone out there has a knackered rim with a good hub and they want to buy an as new wheel?

Magno - Im very interested in your config... You have stated that its plug and play configuration. Could you provide us some more details about it?
Am I understand right that you have 43mm WP fork with standard Xchallange wheel? Is it Upside-down fork ? does it use also standard brake?
do you need any additional adapters for brake?
thanks in advance

The forks go straight into the existing triple clamps. The brake caliper is reused but you need an adapter bracket which Erik can supply or use one from a KTM 950. The spindle has to be machined down to 24mm to fit the right hand (when sitting on the bike) fork leg or you can bore the right hand fork leg to 25mm to accept the original spindle. That's it. If you have the above parts it takes 20 mins to change the forks over.

As far as I'm aware you can't use a standard KTM spindle as the KTM forks are much closer together than the X C and therefore a KTM spindle is too short. Someone else may know otherwise though.

The ones I have are the factory aftermarket forks which are apparently alot better than the standard OEM forks. And the colour matches the frame too. I'll post some pics in a bit.

May I ask Magno... Now you seem to have built pretty much the best overlander in the world, what are you planning to do with it!!? :aidan

Europe to Siberia next year. Across to Australia if funds allow. In the meantime I think some testing through southern Europe. I was planning to go this year but some funny things happen in life and I have been on the receiving end! Spring time next year and I'll be off. May turn into a RTW - I really fancy Ushuaia to Vancouver on the way home.
