Rallye II owners

Has anyone out there fitted B*W's own hydration pack to thier Rallye II jacket?

Looking toward the summer a little, but I usually use a Camelback HAWG as a rucksack come drinks system, but I quite like the idea of having it built into the jacket.

That said I cannot think how well it would fit on the inside of the jacket and also how uncomfortable it would be?

Any comments from those that have one?

I used the bladder from my Shot Baja off road jacket as they're all pretty similar and Vines didn't have the BM one. It clips in no problem and the tube's more than long enough.

It sits pretty well with a couple of litres of water in and is a must for hot weather touring/riding.

When full it does make the jacket heavy - kilo/litre - and you have to be careful when you lay your jacket down - hang it on the back of a chair! It gives you a lump toward the lower back but doesn't intrude. I haven't found it uncomfortable in any way and prefer it to my Camelbak for road work as it's one less thing to remember to put on.

Filling is a knack as you need to half unzip the liner to access the bladder pocket but is easily done at petrol stations with the jacket hanging off the back of the bike.

A big thumbs up from me.

Thanks for the quick reply, do you know what size bladder will it take?

Mine is a 3 litre out of the HAWG, I wonder if I fold it up a little it would fit?

The bladder is marked up to 2.5 litres and it fits in length and width (ooh err). Almost as if it's tailor made. It measures 18" x 7" and they should be orderable from the likes of Racespec or ORO.
The filler cap is about half the size of the Camelbak so not too lumpy. I only fill it 1.5 - 2.0L MAX which is more than enough for me.

I wouldn't have thought an oversized one would stay folded due to the nature of water and all. Worth a try though.

i've used mine with a platypus 2l. i tried my msr hydromedary, but it's the wrong shape. you need it to be long and narrow...

as per the previous reply, it's a pain in the arse to re-fill, as you've got to unzip the liner. however, if you're working hard off-roading it does at least persuade you to drink! i guess the dakar boys don't use the liner?!

Another problem is when the jacket is an "exact" fit, ie, on the narrow side, the camelback looks like a real camelback. Hunback of the Notre Dame move over...

Well I have just fitted my Camelback bladder filled with 2lts of water.

Blimey......I can see what you mean about difficult to fit

I cannot imagine going all through all that routine on a garage forecourt when I need to refill it.

Plus, as someone has already has mentioned, what the hell does it look like?

Now I prefer my jackets on the tight side, rather than a para-sail fit, and with the bladder fitted I'll get stopped on suspicion of carry illegal immigrants on my back.

Maybe the B*W one fits better but I am not happy about:-

a) the refilling issue.

b) looking like one of the kids is playing hide & seek under my jacket!

3) £25 (?) just for the bespoke bladder?

So plan B, go to local cycling/outdoor shop and buy another Cameback complete, 1.5 lt capacity for just £18...........cheaper and easier to fill.
