Thanks, I get the idea. Is yours a normal height or a low one?

Not a Rallye obviously, but if you squint, and pretend it’s a different colour, and lop a couple of inches off...
Hope that helps

Some hints if you are going for a Rallye Seat; the standard one is a couple of cm’s higher than the normal seat, I ended up cutting mine down and re-shaping it - it’s now similar to the low version. Photo is prior to that

You are told not to put it on the low setting, it does go on with a bit of a push!

I think it looks better than the two piece and love it in the summer with a low screen, but for serious tours I am back to the ‘comfort ‘ seat, hope that helps

I too agree with the comfort situation, the twin seat is much more comfortable on a longer ride or trip. I find the single seat good for a 300 mile Sunday ride.
Strangely enough one of the service advisors told me not to put the rallye seat on the high setting ! When I asked why he went into to say , it causes a hollow underneath the seat frame could be vulnerable to snapping ! When I pointed this out to the service manager, he said use it on either the low or high, if anything happens to the seat it’s covered under warranty ! Not heard of any snapping, but your quote of don’t use it on the low setting had me recalling the conversation I had

Not a 1250 but a 1200gsa I found the standard height rallye seat pushes you forward into the tank , got mine reshaped to give it a flatter profile, a huge improvement

Agreed as I had the same alteration. I went a step further and had an air pad fitted as part of the work at the same time. Allows you to tailor the comfort according to your riding style at the time.

This is the reprofiled rallye seat on my 1200

Looks great I can see the rise at the front ,do you have any details of who did the work please ?

Thats Interesting , so the airbag is under the cover and you can inflate or deflate accordingly ? great idea

Mine was done by Les at Saddlecraft in South Shields , sure r1happy had his done at exactly the same time at the same place

Yes The photo shows the black button on the red part on the left side of the seat, that inflates and deflates the pad.

Like so many things seat comfort is an individual thing. My Rallye 1200gs came with the rally seat and I did 12,500 miles on it including 2 500 mile days without any more discomfort than any other seat. Last year I bought a pair of Sargeant seats and have been using them. Feels like a different bike however I would not categorically say more comfortable. In fact I recently changed back to the rally seat as I prefer the overall feel. That said it is nice to have a change every now and again.

The Rallye versions do looks awesome, great colour scheme, as I’ve got a touratech seat storage bag in place of the rear seat, do they do a single rallye seat that would fit?IMG_8516.jpg
