Has anyone any photos of the RAM mount for a Garmin V in use. This seems to be the consensus view as the best way to mount my new GPS. Has anyone tried the Garmin handlebar mount as an alternative?
Regards,
Charles

Thanks Andy - now I've got so much info that it's even harder to make up my mind :) Do I cough up the extra for the Touratech mount, or make do with the RAM mount. Decisions, decisions!

Regards,

Charles

crvfr: I have both, Touratech and Ram. I prefer the ram because I don't always carry the GPS in the bike and if I don't need it it come out nice and easy. I think that and empty Touratech in the bars look ugly.

So, is a Ram for me...

If you call gps warehouse ask for Steve. is the only person who seems to understand anything regarding Ram...

Incidentally, if you manage to find the RAM mounts in their web site, ask for a big discount for the time lost

I picked up the RAM mount for my new Garmin GPS V this afternoon. Can someone tell me if there's a knack to getting the unit in & out of the cradle? It might seem like a daft question, but it looks like an extremely tight fit (ooh -er ;) and I wouldn't want to damage my new toy. I want to be able to use it in both the car & on my GS, in fact I used it to find Global Positioning Systems in Stokesley.
Regards,

Charles

Glad I wasn't the only one, I thought I was going to break it as well. Don't try and slide it in from one end as I did - this doesn't work!

Instead sit the bottom of the GPS into the base of the cradle and tilt the top in whilst gently prising the top lip back, it is a very tight fit at first but gets easier with time and practice (as the actress said etc).
