Whilst my bike is in its BMW warranty I wasn't going to change a thing, but got to say I'm getting a bit fed up with the flat spot, just where you want the power to zip past folks, and having ridden a 1250 now, they don't have flat spots at all, so was wondering what I could do to improve the 1200.

its a 67 plate (so is that Euro 4?) with 16K on the bike but only 4K on the engine.

I'm not into another £8K to get the latest thing as other than this the bike is great, and £150 for the RBEM sounds a good price, but just wondering from those who have them, what their thoughts are having run them for a period of time?

I did have a FB chat with Mark Hooton yesterday who has one and says its great.. anyone had any negative experiences at all.. and will it fix my flat spot?

Also, what settings are people running on them?

I’ve fitted an RBP EASY and it is doddle to fit, no taking power from somewhere, only one box to find space for about 100mmx50mmx25mm ish and it works out of the box,

I travel through the commuter traffic in Manchester every day, it makes such a huge difference in slow moving traffic, I used find you had to dip clutch, when moving slowly, before taking a bit more power when in slow traffic or it would rip your head back or stall, but now you can actually use tickover to get through traffic or 1300 revs, if you wanted.

I have wrote on here before that you can release the clutch on tick over and slowly accelerate (not normal practice but I used as a datum) it does pull better and seems more responsive.
I can’t comment on all the figures that others put on here coz it makes no sense to me. To me it just works and easy to fit, and not overly expensive.

I left mine on when it went into service and williams never mentioned it.

your bike is Euro 4 reflector on fork leg show this, my bike have af-xied and very good, but difficult now to get in UK, my frend have like above rapid bike and is very very happy he leave it on bike and service so nothing, but he have no more warranty, maybe better take off if still have warranty, only 5 minute to do.

I had the af-xied on my 2015 LC and didn't think they changed it much? also you have 2 where here you just have one unit.

What does the insurance think about them?

Any more experiance of these units?.. I'm kind of sat on the fence..... ?

I've been nagging one of the best remapping companies to wake up and start on BMW - they started to get their act together

as for rapid bike, Larry had them over for a week years back trying to do a zzr1400, everyday it was a different day and they started again - till he told them to sling their hook, then the other bunch of adaption bodgers just use some Italian moped riders to game on a PC rather than a PS5 and guess what should make it ride better - this is the same thing but twice the price https://brentuningmoto.com/

AF-XIED are adjustable you set lean and tweak it richer till it runs right - due to the fact they rewrite long term fuel trims it doesn't do it overnight - needs 200 miles between each step to start to fix what BMW legally have to supply broken
I would fit these over any other, aside from actually doing it properly like woolich method

when I said I had a power commander to my insurers they were quite happy - to them its safer to ride and doesn't influence top end output - so its a safety aid reducing claims not increasing the risk

I have the same bike and same issue, I think from my reading up on this issue that the AF-XIED is the only one that will fix the flat spot.

I asked my insurance company(Bennetts) about how it would affect my policy. They had never heard of it, I sent links and descriptions, all it did was have them run round like headless chickens. When the insurance came up for renewal, they refused to quote, My enquirey about the AF-XIED so confused them they thought I had one fitted. Even thought that was put right, their new quote was over £100 more than it should have been?

Now with BikeSure, I might try with them, see how they handle it when the computer says no.

AF-XIED will sort the fuelling, but in today's world with children's exhausts and a" flap to make it sound good" its not just fuelling that broken.

They must meet emission and noise regs and all manu build in massive dips and glitches in the power curves. One old test was full throttle in second gear past a noise meter at 40 or something mph. So the nasty fuelling is alongside ignition retardation and these days on fly by wire nanny control, with a slight closure of the throttle too - ALL 100% designed to fake the emission and noise regs at the point they measure them - hence the woolich method will unlock how the engineers built it and spent all their time enjoying it - and of course as released to the press launch

there's one hell of a clue in the first 4 I've made bold here

I have no experience with the RB Easy, but reading their instructions, and the fact that they do adjustment on two dials leads me to belive that the unit is built with an analogue technology.
If that is the case, it will explain the varying results from day to day.

What I do know is that the AF-XIED is fully digital, and it's control is based on feedback from the O2 sensor. Thus, the resulting fueling will be very predictable, and any variation in parameters, being air pressure, outside temperature etc, the fueling will always be adjusted to the selected AFR, as set with the one dial available.

The downside to the AF-XIED would be the need for two units, as each unit will handle only one O2 sensor. This makes the AF-XIED needing a bit more space than desired. However, it seems like people find room for it...

yes so true, but now difficult for brexit UK to get from USA

why should brexit make a difference? it was always hell from USA and probably still the same. You have always had to to pay both import tax and 20 quid for the privilege of being told to pay import tax...

I emailed them, they no longer deliver to the UK.

if you mean the manufacturer they no longer deliver to anyone - its all through these guys

there was never a trade deal giving compete freedom of movement for goods and services between the EU and USA, and there still isn't with UK, even though most people will soon be jobless and are already 15% poorer after voting in the idiot ruining this place as we speak
