Hello,

Riding my new F800GS, very nice, big change from my old 1150 GS, 60 miles on the clock, however my question is when riding over uneven surface (not off road, just bumpy road - not too difficult to find with our local council) I hear a rattle from around the tank, clocks area. Doesn't sound mechanical. I briefly mentioned it when talking to the dealer, he thought it may be the fuel regulator. Agreed that it would be looked at on first service, unless it gets worse. I can find nothing loose.

I have not ridden an F800 before, so I don't know what they sound like when ridden compared to my old bikes.

Anyone had any similair experience?

Regards,

Stuart

Floating Brake discs - perfectly normal.

It's part of the 'character' of the bike :)

I recall that some of the early bikes had a spacer in the top of the forkleg that could let the spring rattle a bit ... The rattle at the back of the bike will be the breather cut-off valve - you'll hear that if the bike is on the main stand and you wobble it from side to side...

Yep the 'floating' disc rattle a bit.

Check your head race bearings are ok, mine wern't and needed adjusting. Any clunking from this can be lost in with the discs rattling!
Other than that all's good.

Thank you for the responses, Will keep an eye (or ear:)) on it and go back to the dealer if it worsens.

Regards :thumb2
