Just got this bike and the front disk rattles around in the bobbins.
Nothing in Haynes or Clymer.
Motobins book mentions there is some movement, but I think mine is massively excessive.
I always thought floating disks were so called, because the material that seperates them from the hub was different, to help with heat dissipation.
But anyway, back on track, is this normal, because I certainly have never seen or heard a loose disk before.
Cheers

BTW How do you remove bobbins? Because the centre of mine look perfectly round, ie will not take an Allen key, unless they've been rounded:eek

i have a spare s/h one here. £25 + post if you want it.

i can post a piccy if you're interested.

Thanks guys,

Glad Motorworks does EBC, couldn't afford the BM one.

Cookie, when it comes to brakes, I'd rather get new; thanks for the offer though:thumb

Some of us cant afford the EBC - I ended up with the Kyoto from Wemoto.

Just fitted it, and it with Vesrah pads it works better than the OEM disk did with EBC HH pads.

The Vesrah pads were half the price of the EBC ones too, though I have fitted a six pot Tokico caliper which has expensive pads.

Dont know how long it will last but at the price who cares.

Just phoned for an EBC, they were out of stock.
But, during the conversation, discussed cast iron disks.
So, may not look as nice, but cheaper and better braking:)
I've had cast irons before, on Beamers and Moto Guzzi, so am fully aware of the negatives.
