Ok a question for those that know............im going to fit the RDS sensors from my GSA wheels to the Alloys ive just bought after they have been powder coated. That will avoid the cost of £90 :blast a pop for new sensors. Do i need the repair kit for the valves or will it be ok to use the original seals. Methinks i need the kit but i just want to confirm. Cheers, Del :D

You will probably get away with it but safer to get the kit. Shame because all you really need is the seal which is not available on its own. You could try it with the old seals and check with washing up liquid after inflating.

Thanks peeps :thumb2 seems a lot of faffing about if the seals dont work but £12 for a kit for one wheel ?? ohh me will have to have a look when i remove the sensors and see what i think.

All the repair kit is a valve core, seal, valve cap and the nut that secures the sensor to the wheel. Unless you know for sure there's damage I wouldn't bother getting it.

I simply fitted mine with some red rubber grease - don't go mad tightening that nut. I now need to have them out and change the batteries as one is getting intermittent.

Is that an easy task ? maybe you could do a full article with pics on how to do it. I bought a rear wheel from an early GS last week and it came with the RDC unit attached although ive no idea if it works or not. So i have a spare if i ever need it.

Carefully dig out the battery potting resin. Unsolder the old battery. Solder in a new battery and reseal it with electronics grade silicone sealer.

It seems that you need. CR2032 CMOS battery with tabs. That will make re soldering easier.

I gave up trying to solder underneath the battery as it was too fidly and the solder wouldn't stick. I dod solder on the top and ots all held in place with ph neutral sealant
Works just fine. Next time though I'll get the batteries with tabs so can solder both sides.
