……411 Himalayan….toured 2 up on the bike.….albeit at a leisurely pace….

No modifications I believe. They should have fitted a free flow air filter, a hot cam, decat’d the exhaust and fitted an open pipe, along with a big bore kit, to unleash the full 25 horsepower that lurks inside the beast.
PS Loving the “albeit at a leisurely pace”, to assure us that the retired couple were not hooning their two-up 411![]()
No modifications I believe.
I haven’t done any modifications to mine also. I cannot seethe advantage of spending upwards of £500 for a couple of extra horses.
If you want a faster bike, you don’t buy a Himmy 411. Just like it as it is!
This retired couple had no complaints and just used it![]()

I did realise your reply was tongue in cheekI’m glad my little joke worked.

You're not helping Pete
I looked at s 450 yesterday at smalley cross derbyshire. Liked the bike except the swing arm. It looked cheap and the welds along the top of it looked budget. At the time i was looking to move my 411 on after 5 years ownership, i couldn't get to see or ride a 450 and they weren't close to being in the showrooms so, i ended up buying a very nice Vstrom 650.
So, since then i have sat on them but never ridden one. Fast forward to a couple of months ago. I rode out to A&D Denbigh for a mooch, a brew and a bacon butty. Parked outside was a 450 demo bike so, i had a look round and a sit on it. Didn't like the seating postion and thought, naah, got off and that was that, until that is, i was invited to take it out for a test, which i did. Oh dear, mistake. I bloody loved it! What a great engine, the riding position worked ok when actually riding, the little screen does a fine job of keeping the wind blast off, brakes good, handling fine, all good in fact. The bike had done about 14miles so the engine would only get better as it frees up but it pulled like a train anyway. So, watching a very nice one i have seen for sale, 700 odd miles, (Hanley Black, tubeless which is the one i would have bought) and some good extras. Hmm![]()
They are relatively cheap bikes. Don’t be too critical on welds etc. Just enjoy the ride!I looked at s 450 yesterday at smalley cross derbyshire. Liked the bike except the swing arm. It looked cheap and the welds along the top of it looked budget.
Will test ride one when the weather improves.
Also an MT450 there which looked nice but lots of plastic..
