I am carrying out the annual servicing myself on my 2015 1200RT Lc which has now recorded 52,000 miles.
Is it necessary to re-set the throttle adaption, what's involved, how often should it be done and any benefit once done?
Thank you

I do the adaptation every year and it seems to stop the throttle lurching at low speed

Very informative chaps, the TPS procedure is different to balancing the Throttle bodies, I must of got the two mixed up! So should I be balancing the throttle bodies, again what does this involve and what benefit would I have??

I've ridden one which needed doing and some of the symptoms were a slightly lumpy idle and increased engine vibes. When done, it idled nicely, pulled cleaner and was smoother. My new (to me) RT also needs doing as it was skipped for some reason when serviced last.

I must admit the RT has the same symptoms, especially vibes. I'll get this sorted when all servicing is done. All valve clearances checked as I do every year, all within spec as usual after 52,000 miles.... easy DIY job.
Many thanks for the info chaps.
