I have no choice but to wait for my bike whenever it's being serviced and normally I find this tedious. This time I chose Bahnstormers and it was a real pleasure.
Great music playing and lots of bikes to look at, so that killed some time. The bike had to cool down first, but by the time the mechanic started on my bike--which was just the other side of the glass window into the showroom--I was on my second cup of cappuchino. The mechanic working on my bike is Spanish. I had a great view of the process and spent some time watching him. His working methods were meticulous.
I then had a wander round the clothing and accessories and a chat with Darren (ex SLM on parts) and some other staff. Really nice attitude.
There's lots of room in the showroom--not overly cluttered. I had taken my PC with me to work on and unlike some dealers, the table height was fine for this. Another cup of coffee, watched some of a BMW (?) video of bikes, and that was it--the bike was ready and the bill was slightly under the estimate I had been given.
I was already feeling well pleased, but the remaining hurdle was my leaking panniers. The fault was easily identified as problem seals in the lids, so new panniers were fitted on the spot under warranty with new lock inserts (rather than carry the old ones over).
Well recommended.
