Rear bevel gear dirty oil 6200 mile bike what are the service intervals?

Just playing about with the bike today - (I like to work on it as well as ride it) I decided to drop the rear end in order to check the splined coupling as mentioned on this forum as problematic / dry on some bikes. Mine was quite dry so Stabarag grease applied. I also dropped the bevel gear oil - it was very black / quite contaminated with metallic. not sure when this should be changed? given it has level / drain plugs I would expect periodic changes rather than filled for life? anyone else got experience of this?

I can only speak for my '07 hexhead, but it gets done every 12000 miles, ditto gearbox oil.

I dropped the bevel gear oil on my TC about 500 miles after a service were the dealer changed the oil and it was black as you describe so it goes black very quickly or the dealer forgot to change it ?

I think you will find it is 12000 service intervals, I always change mine every 6000, oil is always black, can get 5 oil changes from 1 lt of oil. Cost is between £2 - £3 per change

Mine was black when I first changed it but looks clean since I have started changing it at every 12k.
