Rear bulb went which I have replaced and both rear light and brake light work correctly as do my indicators and yet even after a few miles ridden and after countless restarts the rear light idiot light won't go out. Anyone else have this and manage to clear it without going to a dealer? (or having to purchase a GS911)

Thanks

Steve

Try switching Ignition on,let it go through checks, DONT start, switch off.
Repeat this.
Start it the third time.
Hope this helps

The lamp failure sensing circuitry measures the resistance of the filament. If the filament is blown, it uses the other filament at reduced power to maintain the tail lamp. You could have one of several conditions:

a) The filament is actually blown despite being a new lamp.
b) The lamp has a different resistance to the ones sold by BMW dealers (don't laugh it has been known).
c) The rear lamp holder and/or wiring is corroded leading to a high resistance path and thus the alarm state.

Let us know how you get on.:thumb

Thanks guys

Thanks again
