Changed the hoses on the bike today, as they look original and the bike's 10 years old. Picked up 3 stainless bleed nipples to replace the slightly manky looking ones to go with the new braided hoses and stainless banjo bolts. The two on the front brake calipers are the expected 10mm thread but the one on the back seems to be a mini nipple in a larger outer.

Is this normal or has is been modded at some point. Is there any reason for this?

Of course I forgot to measure it when I took it out and just put the old one back in so I could get the brakes working again.

No that's normal, the larger fitting can be changed if you snap off the 6mm bleed nipple in it.

Thanks for that, I'll get those next time I service the brakes. Strange that they'd put them in the back brake but not the front, wonder if there's any specific reason for that.

Cheers.
