Should one apply thread-lock to the rear calliper mounting bolts after replacing the brake pads?

I can see no mention of it in the service manual, but always had in the back of my mind that it was the done thing.

Never done it myself.....................only had a couple of calipers fall off :)

I have never done it myself. If the bolts are torqued up correctly there should be no need for loctite IMO.

on critical bolts, i often mark them immediately after torquing with a tip-ex pen.

that way, i KNOW i torqued them + i can see at a glance if they loosen.

Good idea :-)

How does a correctly torqued bolt prevent it from becoming undone

If you know something that the aviation industry / motor racing people doesn't, please tell :thumb2

It's called controlled thread deformation.

There's not very much on a racing/rally car that has loctite on it.

Final though,do you loctite your wheel nuts on,no,and when was the last time one of those fell off!
