I have a 2nd hand final drive from Motorworks as a spare (my 3rd unit).

I have noticed the brake carrier is not not pushed down on to the splines fully.
Is there a special tool or method for this?
Should I heat the carrier to enable it to 'drop' down the shaft?
I would rather do this myself rather than send away again, if poss.

Any pro-spanner help/advice appreciated :)

You have a bitch of a job ahead I'm afraid. I got into the exact same position when refitting my new brake carrier post removing a cracked one. It is an interference fit and you need to make the brake carrier as hot as you can. I just about managed it with a heat torch but only just. A blow lamp would be better. Then you need something to drive it on with. I used my old brake carrier (I can send you mine at cost). Then you whack it on. You will of course blow out the seal on the other side which you'll need to fix. I'd send it back to motorworks. Much easier.
