Rear Brake Disc OPTIONS for R1150GS

Fwiw I've bought a good number of products from steptoe, head guards - excellent, brake pads good quality and good price, plus a few other bits n bobs.

I also bought a pair of brake discs for my 1100gs, not so good. Let me explain - the discs were good quality material straight as a very straight thing. Looking at the way they were manufactured they appeared to have been laser cut, not a problem on the outer and inner edges but not so good on the bolt holes. I had to enlarge and smooth out every bolt hole to enable me to fit them. In fairness to Neil I contacted him and told him the issues I was having and he offered me a full refund on the spot however by that point I had altered some of the mounting holes and thought it was unfair to return them in that state. The discs are on the bike and have been for a number of years they work well and I have no complaints about them but they were a complete pita to fit. Maybe I was just unlucky.

Would I buy anything else from steptoe or reccomend him - absolutely! In fact when my clutch needs doing I'll probably make the trip to London and have him do it.

Due to frequent attacks of enthusiasm on fine Scottish roads I can be very hard on discs and have high spotted many sets. Talking front here not rear by the way. The last ones I bought were from Allbike engineering,

sales at allbikeengineering dot co dot uk http://www.allbikeengineering.co.uk/

They seemed to best resist the abuse and cruelty heaped upon them and I'd tried lots of others listed in the OP.

Was that a genuine EBC disc or one of those fake ones made in China :D

I have Steptoes front discs and they are fine, very happy with them and easy to deal with. Having said that he won't appreciate any feedback as he likes the exclusivity of his mysterious ways.

So if you are a muppet and want to know how many brake test cycles have been done, shop elsewhere. For the normal guy, these discs are great and do the job they are intended to do.
