I was exploring some tracks in Wales a few weeks back and had some difficulty reaching the rear brake lever on some descents when standing on the pegs.

With a trip to the trails in the Alps just a month away, I'm pondering what the best option is for me. Do I buy the adjustable lever by BMW, or is there (hopefully) a cheaper solution?? Is there enough adjustability in the stock lever to make it work?

Thanks

As you have the bike and only you know how far the pedal needs to be moved perhaps it's time to become a tad more pro-active and see for yourself :)

The 2006-2012 1200 Adventure had a fold down step on the brake "pedal" - to bring it higher.

No idea if new Adv has similar? Maybe NippyNorman does a converter?

The Adventure has the brake pedal raising feature, a fold down bit that adds extra height, but the non Adventure doesn't.

the fold down step on the brake PEDAL is for the GSA.

the GS doesn't have it.

you can try adjusting the PEDAL upwards but be careful not to lock up the rear caliper.

There's little room to bring the pedal much higher, as it would then be against the frame... The fold down step on the GSA is precisely what I need, but don't want to pay £160+ for the BMW aftermarket option unless I absolutely have to!
