I've just bought a kit from the Celt to fit a brake light to my Givi E460 topbox and thought that it would be within my abilities to fit however I've now come up with a question.

I intend simply to connect the light to the normal rear brake light cable, but of course I don't know which one that is. Does anyone happen to know what colour the rear brake light cable is on an 1150?

Thanks

Wire Colours

Just had a look on the diags for a 00 model, it should be the same. The Brown wire is Earth, The Grey and Yellow wire is the live feed to the Brake light and the Grey and Black wire feeds the tail light. Easy to check just pull the spade connectors off inturn to prove.

Very true Gazza, I was looking for the same wires last Sunday and found them: brown (-) and grey/yellow (+).

I made my own extra brake light with LED's and built it into the "window" of my Givi topcase. Works fine.

You can feed the new wires through the hole where the original cable goes into your tail light unit. Then connect to the brown and grey/yellow in there, so it's all waterproof at once.

Good luck Iain.

Recently did the same by mistake trying to fit autocomm remote lead to the brown green wire of the rear brake.

Help! How do you reset it as, at the moment the ABS fault lights flash alternatively.

....Going on a bike holiday to the Pyrennes in three days and not very happy with this self induced problem! Can it be down at home or does a dealership have to reset it?

Cheers
