rear brake pads (how fat)

looking at the rear brake I reckon I have about 2 to 3mm of pad left.

What I am not sure about is how fat the pads were to start with. I have a 1200 mile journey coming up and I tend to use the rear more than the front.

Any ideas as to their thickness when new?


Done 9k on these pads so far.
 
I think that you knew the answer to this before you posted - change them!!

During last month's Tossers-on-Tour, no fewer than 6 bikes needed to change their rear pads en-route.

Mine went at 9.3K. Problem with semi-linked is you are hosed once metal hits metal. I feel the original pads were too soft. The replacements are sintered and seem to be lasting longer.
