Hello,
Brought myself some new touring boots this year. however I now notice that I have put my travel in my foot to engage the rear brake. Although this is not a major issue it is an inconvenience.

Does anybody know of a raiser for the the rear pedal, or some thing that clips on to the pedal.

I already ride with the rear pedal flip-on thingy down on the gsa.

Thanks

Sorry can't help you but it begs the question from me "if you're struggling with the brake pedal how the hell do you change gear?" I only ask as some while ago I bought some MX style boots for occassional green lanes and cannot set the gearchange up for use with these boots.

I'm not struggling, just used to slightly putting downward foot pressure and the brake engages. Now I hve to push my foot a lot further down before engaging, no problems with gearing.
Perhaps I am resisting change, and just lazy.

I may be missing something, and I'm no genius with a set of spanners (far from it), but just adjust the lever up or down to suit. Search on here for guidance if stuck and / or consult the user / Haynes / Clymer manual (s).

Once you've done it once, it should be a doddle any other time you change boots. :thumb2

To be honest I don't see the point of the rear brake pedal. I've not used it on a GS in about 10 years....:)

Ok, problem solved.
My new boots are not so wide as my previous one, herein lies the problem. I was thinking I needed to travel more with my foot to engage the brake. What I actually need to do is turn the foot in more to hit the brake.
So I have ordered a rear brake extender form NN .

Situation solved. There I told you I was lazy !

It might be different on later models, but on early GSs the brake lever can't be rotated like the gear lever can. I have a similar problem to Dxtans in that while I can reach the brake level easily, to apply the rear brake properly requires me to flex my foot further than is really comfortable, and it's nothing to do with my boots. There is no problem with the gear lever, which in comparison has far less travel

Try a brake lever of a 1200GSA?

I understand what he means. I find I have to lift of the peg to push the pedal down with the ball of the foot, it's not wear as I just replaced the disc and pads and bled the system, Which the servo made a fountain of brake fluid easy:D
