Rear Caliper Pistons - Why Can't I Buy Them?

BMW sells PISTONS AND SEALS for the front brake calipers - but only SEALS for the rear caliper. Why don't they sell PISTONS for the rear caliper (they only sell the WHOLE caliper which is quite expensive)? Just curious. Dimond.

A question for BMW. There must be a good reason. Maybe there’s more money to be made selling callipers. And that’s as good a reason as any. JJH

I had a quick look at my favourite supplier and they have them available. I’m sure there is an equivalent USA supplier but I can’t remember the name.

Good question, but:

Why would you wish to replace the pistons?
Unless you have been using them as brake pads!
As long as the seals are good, a few scratches are neither here nor there.

I think it had something to do with trying to remove the pistons with a screwdriver or pliers or something like that if I remember correctly

They sell SEALS which means you can get them out WITHOUT damaging them.
