This will overfill the drive.
Measure the qty 240ml and put it in with a syringe.

I'm sorry, I'll read that again:

I know that if I take out the drain plug while the drive is in normal position, oil comes out, so I beleive that the correct level is higher than the drain plug.

So, in fact, you risk underfilling, not overfilling as I said earlier.

Dead easy to get a 50cc syring and put in 240mm of oil.

You should have a tube of the right grease so you can lube the splines when you have the drive swung down. Mine needed it for sure. MOS2 grease.

Begs a question, is that plug at the rear of the drive meant to be a level plug or a drain plug ???? if its a level plug surely all we gotta do is fill the drive till oil comes out ? and not mess with syringes and measuring jugs ?

It's a drain plug like Bin Ridin says, as the 1200 is supposed to be a sealed for life final drive, but now BMW recommend changing oil every 2 years. You have to remove torque arm and drop the drive down to drain the oil.
