Hi all,

Only had my 1200 adventure two weeks (64 plate) and decided to take it out today with a friend anyway going through town my mate slammed into the back of me the pannier rack is bent which could mean the subframe is, not sure how much impact the back wheel and drive shaft took, so my question insurance company and have a full checkup (mates insurance)or bend the rack back and forget about it my mates Harley looks like it hit a skip.

PS the reason i'm asking is I don't want to spoil a good friendship but i'm worried that other problems might not appear straight away ie drive shaft wheel alinement etc

Get it checked.

If it spoils a good relationship then it was never there.

End of the day - your mate hit you

If he's a good mate he will be feeling really bad about the accident. He will be wanting to put your bike right, especially as he knows you have only had it for 2 weeks.

Ask him how he wants to handle it before worrying too much.

It sounds like it definitely needs a good alignment check just for your peace of mind.

Thanks for the replies, it's nice to hear other people tell you it needs properly looking at, I did try the panniers when I got home and they were a mile out I just hope he has protected no claims.
