Dean Shetland,
I have a 2013 gs te, I had noticed the other night that my bike was bouncing in the rear a fair bit, out in the garage tonight I was moving it around and I am now convinced that something is wrong. The shock has done 14,000 miles it is the original one, it motors through the suspension settings okay, and does get a little harder on the two up setting. There are no signs of oil leaks. I would appreciate any advice as up here we have no local dealer.

I would advise you to try a friends gs if you cant do that I would disconnect battery and see if anything is different when connected back up. Another idea is to ring a main dealer and ask to speak to a technician. I found Southport BMW fairly helpful. Sorry I cant be more help

Many thanks een705, my wife has a 2017 one, it is rock solid, so I do have one to compare it with. It is lik3 the shock has no rebound left in it, it bottoms out. I wil try the battery as you suggest.
Dean.

Same happened to my 2014 about 9 months ago at about 25k miles - no rebound dampening, it would just 'bottom out' on the upward stroke. There are a couple of places that will repair and upgrade it with better Tractive parts. Martin Wittering at Torque Racing is the Service Centre for Tractive, based at Bassingbourne but I'll be honest he never got back to me after I chased him a few times. There's an ESA Repair a specialist in Holland that were very helpful. I ended up buying a refurbished OEM shock off ebay and fitted it myself as it was a little cheaper. It's pretty easy fit too, theres a couple of how to videos on youtube. Been working fine ever since. If you can afford it I'd get the Touratech upgrade but its a bit too expensive for me.

Dean here Steven,
Many thanks for your reply, I like the idea of fitting it myself, on fitting an Oem one is it a case of plug and play, or will I have to have it calibrated afterwards
Does anyone know what causes the rebound damping to fail especially so quickly.
Thanks to all.
