OK I have just taken the rear wheel off and checked with magnet........Yes it is steel.

Dealer was correct :bow

Just got to go to stealer next week to have fuel pump "checked" for cracks :nenau

I had the recall letter from BMW, with a take no action as parts are in short supply and we'll write again and let you know...that was quite a while back.

I was speaking to Cannon BMW for some spare parts and asked them about this. They told me that they've had the parts of r months, and just to book it in and they would do it. They were surprised that BMW Motorrad hadn't sent a second letter... but judging from Joca's response that may just be luck that Cannon have the parts already.

Manchester is North of Watford Gap after all ;¬P
 
Mines booked in for 20th June @ Bahnstormers @ Maidenhead....and a nice man has sorted out a demo bike for me so I can decide if my next bike will still be a GSA12......:green gri
 
Went to my local dealer yesterday, they too asked if I had a second letter, I said no, he then informed me that they are just doing the last of the 05's and starting on the 06's, does this sound right? Mines an 07 and I'm hoping to get it done before I head out to Slovenia in august!!

had a quick spin out on an RT demo as well.

very nice but I will be sticking with my 2010 TC GSA for a bit longer
 
Just got the second letter to contact my dealer... Looks like parts are available.
 
You need the 2nd letter (red envelope) to get the job done. Just got my letter and have booked the bike in. a

Yes, that's the one I got. I'll book for next month. MOT due this week. Not taking it dealers for it.
 
Got my second letter today, will get it booked ASAP as mine has been cracked for I don't know how long.
 
I had my rear flange replaced by Benham in Wolverhampton a few weeks back, they said they had done 56 of these and mine was now the second one to show signs of cracking around the holes.

Mine 2008 /07MY booked in at Manchester on the 27th got a new GS for two hours to play on..

No second letter Manchester just booked it in.
