Yes they are available and some guys on here run them, quite how though I do not know as the standard battery is pretty dire.

The more I look the more B*W options I find for the HP2, I am sure a dealer list exists someweher, I have just not found it yet.

You have to fit them after you get the bike as they are not a factory item. I have installed them to my HP and have had no problems with the battery.

I thought B*W did a set now that even has different right hand switch gear with a switch built in?

There is a HP2 model specific list of accessories,a non model specific list of accessories ,a TT model specific list...and so on...as long as you got the $$.
The heated grips don't last long.One or two years.Yes they come with a 2 years guarantee.So,better put them on later in winter,not now.It's not a model specific acc.

This is correct, but only as an after market kit from BMW. You have to order a new switch gear face for the right which has the built in switch.
