Rear GSA rack question

Could anyone with the BMW 1200 GSA rack fitted have a quick look and check if the plastic inserts are fitted inside the mounting points please?

I mean the shaped plastic bits that receive the vario upper mount hooks .......

I've taken them off and bolted the rack on, but not sure if they are supposed to be in there or indeed if they come as standard on the GSA

not at gsa part for the standard rack and aluminium boxes

I'm at work at the moment so can't give a picture but I do recall them being on my 2011GSA and recall them being a pain to square up. My GSA has the ally panniers so not sure if that makes any difference.

Edit to clarify, the pic above shows where the inserts were when I took my racks off and where they went when I rebuilt them.

The second pic in post 6 on the link isn't that clear as to whether the black things are on that one or not...........

If it'd definitely not a GSA part and doesn't come with the GSA I'll be sending them with the vario's to their new owner.... I was trying to ascertain if he'd have a set already on a GSA

It is a GSA part, they are on my GSA which I've had from new.

So, unless fairies have been in in the middle of the night and whittled them from unicorn horn just for me, he should have some on his GSA too.

I have had my (late) 2010 GSA from new and do not have anything fitted to the rack that resembles those shaped plastic things on my luggage rack

Perhaps they have since decided to provide extra functionality to allow the mounting of varios as well as the metal luggage

They were already fitted to my 06 when I removed the rack and fitted the Varios

2013 GSA 90th Anniversary, Black bits present and correct, you can just make them out in this pick.

Perhaps they have since decided to provide extra functionality to allow the mounting of varios as well as the metal luggage

It would appear you need to get your ass down to the dealer and demand the return of your 'Black Bits'.

I'd also check the area where they should be for any wear or corrosion.

There may be a claim in this.

Nah, I don't think so, I've not missed them.

Besides the bike will be replaced in a week,
but maybe I should check the new WC for these brackets

AFAIK my GSA has no mounts like that. Maybe it was an option to take Vario instead of alloy luggage.
