Rear hugger

Have had a puig rear hugger fitted to my last 3 gs over the past 7 years and no issues until today
Was at my local dealer and was told that if I didn’t remove it my warranty would be invalid
This info had come directly from Germany he told me
Anyone else had this issue

Is the bike on a PCP when the mothership has some input to how it is used? Or am I assuming to much - don’t know.

I doubt this very very much. There’s no way a main dealer would remove a part in these circumstances.

The Germans require an ABE certificate for any aftermarket parts fitted to a bike, which your hugger may not have, but you’re not in Germany

Maybe they don’t like the way it’s fitted, does it use the paralever bolt or brake caliper bolts or something else that could be considered dodgy?

When my GS was in for its last Service the Dealer phoned to say that they had to remove the Puig Hugger as part of the Service, but BMW would not allow them to re-fit it due to a couple of episodes where the main retaining Bolt had come loose and worked out causing an accident. Nothing to prevent me from refitting it, just that their Service guys were not permitted to.

This is the same reason I was given also that the bolts can come loose I even put lock tight on bolts when I fitted it
Mine is also puig hugger so I’m sure it comes with necessary certificate

The bolt does come loose, when measured they are smaller in diameter than the original bolt fitted. When this happened to me on a trip around Scotland I had covered 1500mls and the bolt was almost out. I did turn my own bolt out of stainless but then decided not to refit it, could have very easily caused an accident. I think I’d rather loose the money on the hugger.
